Our Visual Communication Design Department's 2023-2024 academic year orientation presentation was held for first-year students.

The orientation program held for the first-year students of the Visual Communication Design Department started with cookies served to the students by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülin Sepetci and Department Head Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı.
"Visual Communication Design has had its share of digitalization and is among the indispensable rising professions of the future."
After a brief definition and introduction of visual communication design, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı stated that an aesthetic education blended with technology is essential in today's digitalizing world. In this context, Tandırlı emphasized the importance of mastering design principles, perception theories, art and design history and philosophy. Department Head Tandırlı said that as department instructors, they want to train technology-friendly visual communication designers who are based on visual aesthetics, prioritize user satisfaction, and have matured their design-oriented thinking approach. In this context, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı Kuram stated that we have a process based on projects and products in the integrity of aesthetic and technological applications.
Then, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı continued the orientation program with a presentation introducing the University. In the presentation, he introduced many vital facilities such as the University administration, social and cultural facilities, sports facilities, library services, dormitories, dining halls, etc. In addition, technological facilities, internet and communication infrastructure, opportunities to participate in social contribution activities, student societies, the Hello Summer Student Festival planned by our Faculty, the establishment of the Faculty Music group Harbi Music Student Society, etc. were explained to our students.
Following his presentation, Faculty Secretary Hayrettin Karataş provided important information about the functioning and administrative issues during the student period. Karataş especially provided information about important issues such as the academic calendar, document requests, etc. The live support platform developed by the Faculty administration, emmetlef, provides information on registrations, exams, graduations, etc. Karataş, who underlined how useful it is in the important and busy processes of the academic calendar, thanked Dean Tandırlı on behalf of the administrative staff for the support he gave to this project. Our faculty student representative Tevhide İrem Zorlu opened her own student information system and showed all the details about all the topics of interest via a curtain reflection.
There was intense participation in the orientation program.
