The Visual Communication Design Department made significant changes to the 8-semester curriculum prepared by the department head Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı at the board meeting held on April 25, 2025. The curriculum was updated in the meeting, taking into account the current needs of the sector and future design trends.

Featured Updates:
Course Names and Contents: The names and contents of some courses were updated, allowing the program to have a more dynamic and contemporary structure.
ECTS Credits: The ECTS credits of some courses were rearranged, and an attempt was made to balance the workload of students. The ECTS credits of the "Basic Design I" course were increased from 5 to 6.
Elective Course Pool: The elective course pool was expanded in order to provide students with more opportunities for specialization and to focus on their areas of interest. New courses such as "Contemporary Art Thoughts," "Cartoons and Animation," and "Artificial Intelligence-Supported Design" were added to the program.
Out-of-field Elective Courses: Out-of-field elective courses were added to support students in gaining knowledge from different disciplines.
Practical and Theoretical Hours: Some courses have been adjusted in their practical and theoretical hours.
4th Year Elective Courses: 4th year elective courses were restructured to better prepare students for their graduation projects.
These revisions aim to provide the students of the Visual Communication Design Department with the knowledge and skills needed by the sector and to prepare them for the future design world in the best way possible.
