“Fundamentals of Design” Exhibition Opened at the Faculty of Communication

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Department of Visual Communication Design, which accepted students for the first time this year within the Faculty of Communication, brought its end-of-year student exhibition titled “Fundamentals of Design” together with art lovers.

The opening of the exhibition was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz, Faculty of Fine Arts Dean Prof. Dr. Alaybey Karoğlu, Graduate Education Institute Director Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kürtül, the academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Communication and many students attended the opening.

Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, who made the opening speech of the exhibition, stated that visual design is gaining more and more importance in communication processes today and emphasized that the field of visual communication design has become a rising and strategic field. He thanked the students and academic staff who contributed.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı, in his speech, drew attention to how art and design have a strong influence on mass communication, and pointed out the importance of approaching this power with an approach that prioritizes peace, progress and social benefit.

The exhibition featured original and creative designs created throughout the year by first-year students of the Visual Communication Design Department in Basic Design and Typography courses. These works, shaped by the individual comments of the students, were highly appreciated by the visitors.

While the students of the Visual Communication Design Department had the opportunity to introduce their works to the visitors one-on-one, these works, which creatively handled concepts such as visual thinking, form and meaning relationship, which are the foundations of visual communication, received full marks from the audience.

The event ended with a group photo taken after the opening.
