The 2025-2026 Academic Year Orientation Week at the Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University (BAİBÜ) was held with great enthusiasm and efficiency. The week, packed with introductions to all departments within the faculty, hands-on workshops, and visits to Radio Univ. 14 studios, was both informative and inspiring for students.

One of the most noteworthy events of the week was the Visual Communication Design Department Orientation. During the program, faculty members from the department met with students to share their experiences, advice, and motivational messages.

Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı emphasized that Visual Communication Design is not merely a technical field, saying, "Visual Communication Design is a department that teaches human values, good manners, and a positive outlook."

Deputy head of department Ahmet Tuncay Erdem offered words that broadened students' professional vision, saying, "You will become creative, innovative designers who enjoy their work and who pursue their work with passion."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülin Sepetci emphasized the multidimensional nature of the design discipline, saying, “Design is not only aesthetic; it is also a life practice with cultural, technological, and social dimensions. You are the generation that will carry this practice into the future.”

Assistant Lecturer Menekşe Şahin Karadal emphasized the importance of core design courses: “Design-oriented thinking is not just a professional skill; it is the ability to look at life from different perspectives.”

Assistant Lecturer Mahmut Fıfkı Ünal addressed global job opportunities, saying, “You can do business on a global scale in this field, add value to both yourself and your country through international projects, and also generate significant financial gains.”

Faculty administration and academics unanimously agreed that orientation programs are crucial for students to adapt to the faculty, develop their professional vision, and get a strong start to their academic lives.

The BAİBÜ Faculty of Communication aims to offer its students a more creative, productive, and visionary educational environment in the new academic year.
